Student Conduct

Heritage Christian Academy expects its students to try to live above reproach in all aspects of their daily life. We expect students to exhibit respect for God, country, family, teachers, and fellow students. Lying, cheating, stealing, fighting, and profanity will not be accepted. Attendance at Heritage Christian Academy is a privilege; therefore, constructive suggestions are welcomed. Gossiping and criticism will not be tolerated. Anyone who will not cooperate spiritually, morally, and scholastically, will be dismissed.

Principles of Conduct

1.    Disrespect and disobedience to any authority will not be tolerated.

2.    No mutilation or destruction of any property. Parents will be billed for any damages incurred. If intentional, the student will be dismissed.

3.    Lying, cheating, and stealing will not be tolerated.

4.    Horseplay of any sort is considered out of order.

5.    No yelling in hallways, classrooms, or buses.

6.    No chewing gum on school properties or buses.

7.    Talking in class without permission is not allowed.

8.    No passing or writing of notes anytime throughout the day.

9.    Students are not to bring any articles to class which might distract from academics, such as magazines, radios, beepers, cell phones, athletic equipment, trinkets, games, toys, etc.

10. No using of office phone without permission from office or teacher.

11. A proper response to a yes or no question is “yes, sir” or “no, sir”, or “yes, ma’am” or “no, ma’am”.

12. No criticism of staff, policies or students.

13. Rock music, related material, or conversation regarding the rock music culture will not be tolerated.

14. Attendance at movies is strongly discouraged and talk at school about inappropriate movies is not allowed.

15. Students using or talking in a flippant way about the usage of alcohol, tobacco, immorality, or drugs will be subject to immediate dismissal.

16. Any students found fighting will be subject to immediate dismissal.

17. Any student found behaving in a threatening manner, whether in a verbal, written, or artistic form, will be subject to immediate dismissal. Heritage Christian Academy does not tolerate bullying behavior.

Cell phones are permitted for students attending away games; however, cell phone must be kept turned off at all times during the school day and must be kept either in student’s backpack or locker. Any cell phone used during the school day will be confiscated and taken to the school office. The student’s parent is then required to pick up the confiscated cell phone at the school office.
