Our Educational Goals

Spiritual Goals

The student should:

·        Accept Jesus Christ as both Savior and Lord, and grow in spiritual maturity.

·        Demonstrate an indwelling of the Holy Spirit that teaches and guides the believer into all Truth.

·        Understand who he is in Christ Jesus.

·        Recognize the authority of the Scriptures and apply the Word of God to daily living.

·        Involve himself in personal Bible study, prayer and devotions.

·        Demonstrate a compassion for the lost and downtrodden and take an active role in ministering to their needs.

·        Evidence a biblical view of the world and discern the world view represented in the ideas of others.

“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:3-6

Character Goals

The student should:

·        Exercise respect for authority.

·        Show positive respect for self and an awareness of his value to God.

·        See the Bible as the absolute standard for right and wrong, and make moral choices based on its authority.

·        Demonstrate self-control.

·        Put the needs of others before his own.

·        Evidence the principles of Christian leadership.

“As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” Galatians 6:10

Academic Goals

The student should:

·        Exercise reading, writing and oral communication skills at appropriate levels of performance.

·        Experience the creativity of God as revealed in art, music, and literature, and take dominion over the arts, to the glory of God.

·        See God as the omnipotent Creator of the universe.

·        Understand, from a biblical perspective, scientific facts and methods and their impact on mankind and the world.

·        Master basic mathematic skills including computation, numerical reasoning, concepts and relationships.

·        Understand the present world by knowing the past and how God has moved in and through history.

·        Appreciate the biblical framework of the American system of government and be prepared to fulfill his civic responsibility.

·        Think critically and creatively.

·        Apply organizational and study skills.

·        Value and demonstrate the skills associated with maintaining physical fitness and wise use of the body.

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15

Social Goals

The student should:

·        Cooperate when working with others.

·        Understand the nature of unregenerate man.

·        Recognize the work of the Holy Spirit and utilize biblical principles in establishing peer relationships.

·        Function as a member of the Body of Christ, understanding the diversity of gifts in the body of believers.

·        Appreciate the importance of the application of biblical principles to marriage and family structure.

·        Seek God in making a career choice.
